Safety Rules

  • Treat all guns as if they are loaded
  • Keep your finger off the trigger unless aimed and shooting at a target
  • Point your gun in a safe direction at all times (downrange at targets or dirt berms)
  • Always shoot at designated and approved targets from approved shooting locations

Firearm Handling Rules

SUPS is a cold range and firearms may only be handled in the confines of a safety area or under the direction of range officer.  LOADED guns may ONLY be handled under the direction of a range officer.  The range has designated safety tables and UNLOADED firearms may only be handled in these areas.  Unloaded firearms must be bagged or holstered at all other times.  Ammunition is NOT allowed in any safety area.

When you arrive for the first time, leave your guns in the car and find a range safety officer for direction.  DO NOT HANDLE YOUR GUN AT YOUR CAR.

Range Rules

  • Eye protection must be worn at all times
  • Hearing protection is required while you are shooting or near someone shooting
  • Shoot only in bays designated by range staff
  • No centerfire rifle shooting without prior permission
  • No incendiary, tracer, armor piercing or explosive rounds
  • All guns must be unloaded before carrying on to the range
  • Rifles must be bagged, have the action locked open, or action physically obstructed by a chamber flag
  • Rifle muzzles must always be vertical when not bagged
  • Pistols must be bagged, holstered, or action locked open with no magazine inserted
  • Holstered pistols must be unloaded (no magazine, hammer or striker down)
  • Do not walk behind safe tables on the side of bays
  • Keep all muzzles pointed into the berms when on safe tables
  • Keep all guns pointed in a safe direction when transporting
  • No shooting over berms / all rounds must impact the berm
  • Only use approved Targets
  • No glass or breakable targets
  • Clean up targets when finished

YOU MAY BE EJECTED FOR ANY UNSAFE ACTION OR FAILURE TO FOLLOW THE DIRECTION OF A RANGE SAFETY OFFICER.
